Candidate Bio

I believe I have many of the qualities that would make me a great fit for this role. I enjoy being outdoors and spend much of my personal time in nature, and I have experience with lawn and plant care through both previous employment and at home. I have strong time management skills, work well under pressure, and have experience working both independently and as part of a team, both of which I enjoy. I'm enthusiastic about learning new skills, particularly within the horticulture industry, and I'm always eager to develop my knowledge. Through my previous employment, I have also gained experience checking stock, organising customer orders, and using equipment, and I'm keen to continue building my skills in these areas.

Recruiter Note's

Jaxon came across as a genuine, down-to-earth candidate with a real passion for horticulture and a clear sense of where he wants his career to go. He loves being outdoors, and that comes through clearly in how he talks about plants and the environment. He's always had an interest in becoming a Parks Ranger, and while he hasn't yet found employment in that field, he sees a horticulture traineeship as a strong pathway that aligns with his genuine love of nature and the outdoors reflected in the fact that he'd previously applied for a horticulture position and remains keen to pursue a similar field. He was engaged throughout the interview, asked thoughtful questions, and showed real curiosity to learn, particularly around propagation. He comes across as solid, reliable, and physically fit, happy to get stuck into hands-on work, comfortable working alone or as part of a team, and easy-going about logistics. Jaxon currently resides in Boronia but is willing to move to Monbulk, where his grandmother lives, which would make the commute to the nursery much easier, and he has no issue commuting to Monbulk or working at Wonga Park if needed. Overall, Jaxon comes across as a good, honest fit who'd settle in well with a thriving, forward-thinking nursery like PGA.

I have a deep passion for the outdoors and all living things, I am sure I will quickly and deeply fall in love with both my studies and work in horticulture as I already have a long history of personally studying biological systems. The opportunity to develop practical and theoretical horticultural skills would be one that I am deeply grateful to have because it will guide me towards my greatest dream of fostering a symbiotic relationship between modern society and the natural systems of Earth. I am well known for my diligence and the intensity of my passions amongst friends and colleagues. I can assure my total commitment to my work and studies because I already spend most of my free time in my garden or on hikes being able to garden at work is a dream come true. Furthermore I am very familiar with the appearance of a healthy plant. This attention to detail will be most valuable for my work in a nursery. I am also very grateful for opportunities allowing me to work long physically demanding hours as fitness is a large priority for me.

Recruiter Note's

Matt came across as a genuine, reliable, and approachable candidate with a strong interest in working outdoors and developing a career in horticulture. After gaining several years of experience in reception, he is now looking to change his career direction and pursue something he finds more meaningful and aligned with his long-standing interest in plants and the outdoors. He has been exposed to gardening from a young age and, over the past five years, has assisted with garden maintenance and general upkeep at Ringwood Psychology alongside his reception duties. Matt is eager to build on this experience and is committed to completing a Certificate III in Horticulture, with a particular preference for working within the Propagation Team. His references provided very positive feedback, highlighting his strong communication skills, attention to detail, reliability, initiative, and ability to respond well to feedback. Matt holds a valid driver's licence and has reliable transport, is able to commit to the Monbulk site due to having family in the area, and is also open to working at the Wonga Park site if required. Overall, he presents as a dependable and motivated candidate with a strong work ethic, transferable skills, and a genuine willingness to develop his practical skills and build a long-term career within a growing nursery like PGA.
